Crèmes, Lotions, Gels, and Oils
Crèmes: Massage creams are the thickest and most popular lubricants that are versatile enough to be used in most massage modalities. Massage cream is water-based and provides plenty of glide while absorbing easily into the skin for greater control.
Lotions: Massage lotions are thinner than creams and tend to provide the least amount of glide. Massage lotion absorbs quicker, contains more water, and feels cooler and lighter on the skin than crème, making them the perfect choice for modalities that require less slip and more grip.
Gels: Massage gels have a thick, oily consistency that makes them feel warmer and heavier on the skin. Typically, gel has the longest lasting glide, making them the most economical choice. A little goes a long way, even for full body massages on hairy clients!
Oils: Massage oils vary in their absorption rates, viscosity, glide, color, scent, and texture. They feel warmer and heavier on the skin than water-based products like creams and lotions. Oil is great, shipping is a problem!Massage oil is great! How it is shipped by Amazon leaves a lot to be desired. For every two I order, one comes damaged. I’ve made a complaint to the shipping department and nothing has changed.

Not A FanI have always used the “therapeutic” formula, which I love, but it’s too expensive. So, thought I’d go with the “original” formula because it’s cheaper. Well, duh, it’s cheaper for a reason. You must use “double pumps” to get the glide you would have with one pump of the therapeutic formula. In my world this was a waste of money.

superb oil for skinThis is a great oil for massage, or more importantly for hydrating dry skin. On the body, feet, hands, this will soften and rejuvenate dry skin. Keep in a small squirt bottle to apply to dry hands instead of expensive and ineffectual hand lotions. moisten legs, arms hands feet after bath.

Great value for priceMassage oil can be expensive. This one is no different but it’s a great choice for the value. Water solvable, provides a good glide for massage but doesn’t leave anyone feeling too greasy. Hypoallergenic and scent free makes this a great oil to use on everyone.I use a sheets service to wash my massage sheets so I can’t comment on how well the oil washes out when using a home washer/dryer.

Great OilGreat oil for massage therapy. I use this oil for for deep tissue and Sweedish. My patients never complain of greasy feeling or smell. I can also use this oil as base for aroma therapy oils. *It does not wash out of linens and the residue will burn if dried on high heat for too long!*

Great oil but didn’t quite fit my needsNice oil, good price, but I do mostly deep tissue massage and this oil has too much slip for that unless used in extremely small amounts. However, It is an excellent oil for my Swedish massage and as a base for mixing my scented oils.
